Indus Performing Arts Evening
Our team of students from Grades 6 upwards along with specialists put up a spectacular show on February 24th for the Celebration of the Performing Arts. The audience was left spellbound with every performance. The show began with a wonderful rendition of Where the Mind is Without Fear, originally written as a prayer by Nobel Laureate, Rabindranath Tagore and this was followed by three dances, two of which were Bharatanatyam and the last was an Indian contemporary dance. We also had two music ensembles (Hindustani and Sufi) as well as three Piano solo and one Violin solo performances. The musical drama for the evening was the Indus adaptation of Joseph: The King of Dreams which saw a brilliant ensemble of young actors on stage along with a talented troupe of dancers. They were supported by our fantastic orchestra and choir. Also part of the show was a humorous Hindi play titled Wah re Manushya, which put forth excellent acting by its cast and left the audience in splits of laughter. The evening ended on a high note with the school orchestra performing a medley of beautiful numbers for which they received a standing ovation from the audience.
