IGCSE PR OGRAMME
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a balanced international curriculum conducted by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. The curriculum is suitable for students of all nationalities and all levels of ability. It provides an ideal preparation for higher level courses such as GCE, 'A' level, SAT, ACT and IB.
IGCSE is used by schools in over 100 countries. It is recognized as equivalent to the British 'O' level and as a qualification for matriculation by Universities in many countries. The examination is typically taken at the end of two years in Grade X.
IGCSE Subject Options 2007 - 2008
IGCSE provides a broad study programme by drawing subjects from five areas:
Courses offered at Indus:
- First Language - English.
- Second (or working) Language - English.
- Foreign LanguageLanguage - Business Studies.
- Economics, Geography, History, English Literature.
- Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
- Art & Design, Business Studies, Child Development, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Physical Education.
Group 1 : Languages:
Group 2 : Humanities and Social Sciences:
Group 3 : Sciences:
Group 4 : Mathematics:
Group 5 : Creative, Technical and Vocational:
* English, English Literature and Mathematics are compulsary subjects at indus. the students can select a minimum of four subjects from any of the five group, selecting one from each group.
* Students can choose 6 to 7 courses
* Students clearing 7 courses to be awarded the International Certificate of Education
